APUA Water manager dies

Ivan Rodrigues, APUA’s Water Business Unit Manager, has died suddenly.

A relative confirmed he passed away this evening at the hospital.

The minister responsible for the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA), Sir Robin Yearwood, said Rodrigues was a “good man” and a “very hard worker” who “dedicated” his life to the company.

He said he would be missed.

Sir Robin said Rodrigues was at work up to Friday, and had been in communication with his team via phone up to this afternoon, mere hours before he died.

It’s being speculated he died of a heart attack but an autopsy would determine whether this is so.

Rodrigues is survived by his wife, two sons and many other relatives.
